Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by DigitalOcean, LLC on a server in Frankfurt, Germany. When you visit the site, the server automatically records technical data in log files: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and your browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest). Log files are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Security
To protect the site against attacks, a security plugin records the IP addresses of failed login attempts and temporarily blocks them (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data stays on our server.
WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook
The website links to our WhatsApp community group and to our Instagram and Facebook pages. These are plain links: no data is sent to Meta Platforms until you click one. After clicking, the privacy policy of the respective service applies: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook.
Videos and maps
Videos from YouTube are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and only load after you click on them; until then, no connection to YouTube is made. After the click, Google Ireland Ltd. processes data according to its privacy policy (legal basis: your consent by clicking, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Locations are shown as links to Google Maps; nothing from Google Maps is loaded on this website.
Fonts
All fonts are loaded from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other font providers is made.
No forms, newsletter or comments
This website has no contact forms, no newsletter and no comment function. If you write to us by e-mail or phone, we use your message only to answer it.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise these rights, write to team.remoteeastcoasters@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Portugal the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
